Ian Wynne Workshop Sessions

February 7th, 2009 (Shirley)

Olympic K1 500m bronze medallist, Ian Wynne will be coming to the club for 3 workshop sessions during February. The aim of these sessions is to provide tips and advice on various aspects of racing and training.

The first workshop will be on Friday 13th February at 7.00 pm at the Waterside Centre. The workshop will focus on paddling technique. (Other dates for the diary are 23rd and 26th February).

I hope to see as many of you there as possible as these evening workshop sessions will be a real benefit to all.

Ian is also open to ideas for the other two sessions so if there are any topics in particular or areas that you would like Ian to focus on, please let me know and these can be covered during the sessions.

River Clean Up Day

February 7th, 2009 (Shirley)

Sam Rippington has asked us to say a BIG thank you to everyone who helped to clean up the river on Sunday.   A BIG thank you also goes to Thames Valley Park Security for supporting the clean up by paying for lunch for the volunteers and allowing use of their skip. Incidentally, if anyone has lost a TV, a cash register or any shoes, they can be found in the skip by the security office!

We are planning to make this a twice yearly event.
