The time trial is up and running again on Monday evenings - all are welcome to join in - please arrive at 18:00 so that we can start promptly at 18:30.

With effect from 2nd April there will be a training session every Thursday with Brian Kelly at 18:30.

This is in addition to your usual Saturday training.

Well done to Joe Foster and Jamie Boyt who took part in  the Thameside 2 marathon.

Joe came 5th and Jamie 7th.

Fantastic result for Sam Rippington - first in the Ladies K1.

 Some of our racing juniors have been on a winning streak!
  • Hafsa Kabeer won the prize for ‘BEST VISITING JUNIOR’ in the Hare and Hounds series at Wey - results.
  • Sara Kabeer (2nd ~ Girls Lightnings) and Ed Pearson (3rd ~ Boys Lightnings) were awarded medals for  last year’s West Thames Grand Prix series of events. This was a particularly splendid achievement as they only took part in two out of the four qualifying events.

Waterside ‘A’ race - Sunday 15th February

Well done to all club paddlers who took part in this race from Great Bedwyn to Newbury - 13.5 miles and 21 portages!  Our positions were:

Ian Wynne Workshop Sessions

February 7th, 2009 (Shirley)

Olympic K1 500m bronze medallist, Ian Wynne will be coming to the club for 3 workshop sessions during February. The aim of these sessions is to provide tips and advice on various aspects of racing and training.
 
The first workshop will be on Friday 13th February at 7.00 pm at the Waterside Centre. The workshop will focus on paddling technique. (Other dates for the diary are 23rd and 26th February).
 
I hope to see as many of you there as possible as these evening workshop sessions will be a real benefit to all.
 
Ian is also open to ideas for the other two sessions so if there are any topics in particular or areas that you would like Ian to focus on, please let me know and these can be covered during the sessions.

Winter Training Days for Juniors

November 6th, 2008 (Shirley)

The dates of this year’s winter training days are as follows:

Under 13’s - Land training at Reading 7 December 2008. Water based training at Basingstoke 19 April 2009.

 Age 13 and over - Land training at Reading 30 November 2008. Water based training at Basingstoke 22 March 2009.

Each day will cost £5.00 including lunch.
