This trip is going ahead.
We have accommodation at the Dartmoor Expedition Centre near Widecombe-in-the-moor, the cost of this accommodation is £14.00 per person. You will need to bring your own lunches and breakfast. We can decide to eat out or cook in on Saturday.
Fuel will be divided between those in the vehicle.
Water levels at the moment are looking about moderate but will drop off as there is currently no rain forcasted.
If you would like to join this trip please email Steve Finch or call 07984227349.

We are pleased to welcome Ian Rayfield who has kindly volunteered to be our Events and Trips Co-ordinator. Ian is an experienced paddler but not a coach, he will, therefore require a great deal of support from all our coaches to enable him to successfully run a range of trips.
We have put together a provisional programme of trips which can be downloaded here. We would emphasise the word ‘provisional’ until the final dates and locations have been confirmed. The list of possible locations for the flat water paddles will be allocated to dates in the near future.
More detailed information will be provided nearer the date of each trip. We want our trips to appeal to as many members as possible so if you have any alternative ideas for trips please let Ian know and we’ll see what we can do. There is a possibility of a couple of longer trips (Easter and August) if there is sufficient interest – more to follow on this!
Would all coaches who are willing to help with or lead trips please email Ian with your contact details and let him know if you are available to help with any of the trips planned so far.

We have booked some pool sessions at Leighton Park School Pool:
Sun 8th = 6.30pm to 8.30pm – Adults & Coaches
Sat 14th = 4.30pm to 6.30pm – Juniors & Coaches
Sun 22nd = 6.30pm to 8.30pm – Juniors & Coaches
Sat 28th = 4.30pm to 6.30pm – Adults & Coaches
Try something a bit different to start with, each group can alternate between the Saturday and Sunday and therefore the times. (these were all that were available).
Because we have use of the building for the 2 hours each session, each group (adult/juniors) will get approximately 1hr 20mins per session, then allow the coaches to have a play should they wish, put the boats etc away and out of the building at the end of the session.
To provide some structure to the sessions it has been suggested to focus on those that need the coaching for the following;
Correct capsize with a spray deck
Low support strokes
High Support strokes
Sculling fior support
Rolling
Polo games can be built into the session if people would like or other games.
At this moment a cost of £6.00 per session will be charged, however if we are just not covering our costs we could consider an ‘open to all’ on each session or increasing the costs.
Does anyone who holds a current National Pool Life Guard Award able to help provide the Life Guard cover we now need for these pool sessions please contact me.
Coaches or other competent people who would like to be involved with the running of these sessions please contact me.
If you have any ideas for location for paddling trips please let me know. A draft programme has been put together, changes can easily be made and then hopefully it will be out soon.
Happy paddling
Steve Finch
