Calendar - trips and events

Regular Club Sessions are Sunday mornings year round (kayak, canoe & SUP -- on the water for 10:00; dragon boating on the water for 10:30). Wednesday evenings April-October (kayak, canoe & SUP -- on the water for 18:30). Monday evenings April-October (racing time trials, -- on the water for 18:30)

Please note that all dates and sessions are subject to change due to weather and river conditions or logistics. Club equipment may be borrowed for these activities.

All pool sessions will be held at Blue Coat School, Sonning, RG4 6SU.

These sessions are a great way to practice skills and get confident doing wet exsits, support strokes, and learning to roll, or just have fun.

If you are planning on coming along please aim to be 15 minutes early, to help unload boats and bring them poolside.

If you need to borrow a boat please let me know with plenty of notice. If you are brining your own craft you need to make sure it is CLEAN.

Cost:

Per session is £12 for an adult, £6 for Juniors (Coaches who are helping on the session get in for free)

Clothing/Equipment:

Goggles, nose clips, Spray Deck, Paddle, Scuba tanks are a good idea but not essential.

Please enure you are bringing appropriate clothing for the water, the pool gets cold over the winter even though it is heated so I would recomend a neoprene top.

English Canoe Symposium 2026

Friday 30 October - Sunday 1 November

Lakeside YMCA

The English canoe Symposium is a festival of of open canoeing. There will be guided trips, Expert Coaching & Skills Workshops, Inspirational Talks & Evening Socials. There will likely be chance to be guided on some of the local Grade 2/3 classic river sections like the Lune, Eden, Tees, Kent. The coaching is all given for free by some of the top national canoe coaches, all you pay is the accommodation and food costs (and any local travel costs).
