Interested in Paddling?

Join us for a Club Introduction Session!

We run frequent introductory sessions during the summer months for new paddlers. At other times, you may be able to join one of our regular Sunday or Wednesday evening sessions, especially if you have done some paddling before.

Please get in touch if you are interested in kayaking, SUP or canoeing or in dragon boating.

What to do before you come

Ideally, fill out a consent form and bring it with you. If you can’t, don’t worry – we always have some at the club. Also, please be aware of the rules.

What to expect

There will be a brief introduction to our sport and the club and then you’ll be on the water. Please come in comfortable sports clothing – nothing fancy but something that can get wet and that keeps you warm in colder weather (layering can be a good idea).

Each club-introduction session costs £5 per head and this means that you are insured with British Canoeing. You can attend up to three intro sessions before joining the club. Once you are a member, club sessions and the use of club equipment are free of charge.

All our coaches and leaders are qualified to British Canoeing standard and they are happy to help you improve your paddling. That said, there are limits to how much attention they can give you as part of a regular session. If you are interested in courses or 1-on-1 coaching, you may want to contact the Wokingham Waterside Centre (WWC), which is located on the same premises.  They offer a 10% discount for our club members.

If you are interested in joining the club, full details can be found on the Membership Page.
